If you have questions about your anesthesia billing, please call US Anesthesia Partners (USAP) at 206-625-0578. USAP is out-of-network with UnitedHealthcare as of September 1, 2019. Ask your insurer how this might affect your coverage. Please note, this does not include UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans.

Patient Financial Responsibilities

The First Hill Surgery Center is committed to providing you with the highest quality medical care. Because patients are ultimately responsible for the charges associated with their care, you might find the following information helpful. While our financial counselors are happy to assist, it is your responsibility to ensure that all services rendered are paid in full.

The following steps can help expedite the billing process:

• Provide accurate insurance information and current demographic information; contact the office with any insurance changes prior to the scheduled appointment or procedure
• Ensure an authorization has been obtained if required by your insurance so we can provide treatment, also ensure that this includes any necessary referrals
• Provide any pertinent medical records, including test results and X-rays
• Pay any additional amounts owed when due

Cancellation Policy

Please provide us with a notice of at least 3 business days if you need to cancel or reschedule your surgery. We may charge a fee for missed appointments or cancellations.

Financial Counselors

Our financial counselors will contact your insurance carrier to verify benefits and eligibility prior to surgery and will assist you in estimating your costs. We will bill your insurance carrier in a timely manner provided we have current insurance information. Before surgery our financial counselors will notify you if we need to collect a co-insurance or deductible amount prior to surgery. Health Insurance

Since insurance plans coverage can change, it’s a good idea to check with your health insurance company for specific information. Coverage provided by commercial insurance companies varies from plan to plan. Therefore, the amount for which the patient is responsible will also vary. Click to view accepted insurance plans.

Bills from other providers

Your First Hill Surgery Center bill will cover fees associated with your use of the First Hill Surgery Center. You will receive separate bills from the anesthesia provider - US Anesthesia Partners - any laboratory services, and your surgeon’s office. Each of these groups operate as separate businesses with their own billing and account processes. If you have questions about those bills and fees, please contact them directly.
